A wolf in sheep's clothes. 

By the year 1785, in Arras, a small city, to the north of France, lived a young and unknown lawyer. He was not a particularly appealing person. For sure, he only was another one, destined to become a bureaucrat... just one more, among many! In him, a bourgois air lived, elegantly dressed, with a powdered wig, so much in vogue between the wealthy people. But, at the same time, he was a passionate addict to the writings of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. With his  controversial thoughts, this intellectual molded the ideas of many youngsters of the last third of the eighteenth century. His addiction was such, that even could be said that scratched in the unhealthy. The truth is, that those kind of readings, prepared the soil, for the remarkable events to come, not only in France, but in the rest of the western hemisphere.

Un lobo vestido de oveja.


Hacia 1785, vivía en la pequeña ciudad de Arrás, al norte de Francia, un joven y desconocido abogado. No resultaba ser una persona especialmente llamativa. Con toda seguridad, él era otro más, destinado a convertirse en un burócrata, de los tantos que pululaban por entonces. En él afloraba aquel aire de burgués, elegantemente trajeado, luciendo una empolvada peluca, tan de moda entre las clases pudientes. Ese hombre, sin embargo, era al mismo tiempo, un ferviente fanático de la obra de Jean-Jacques Rousseau, el polémico pensador que moldeó el pensamiento de tantos jóvenes durante el último tercio del Siglo XVIII. Su adicción era tal, que hasta podría decirse que rayaba en lo enfermizo. Algo es innegable: ese tipo de lecturas fueron abonando el terreno para los notables acontecimientos que ocurrirían, no solo en Francia, sino en una gran parte del mundo occidental, algunos años después.
